In the early 1900s, Kurt Hahn, a remarkable thinker and educator, made it his mission to provide the right environment and instruction to impel individuals to achieve their fullest potential. Hahn's visionary ideas are alive in the world today and in constant evolution through the action-based programmes that are so beautifully portrayed in this book.
To commemorate the 90th anniversary of Hahn's first school, Mark Zelinski traveled to more than 70 Roundsquare Schools, Outward Bound Centres, and United World Colleges worldwide to capture this true-life story of courage and hope.
Each day in communities around the globe, thousands of students experience life-changing growth and engage in social and environmental service projects, charting new directions for a sustainable future. This is not just a story of hope. This is an epic.

“From The Field” is a collection of images taken from 1975 – 2010, which brings focus to the diversity within the manifested world of form as witnessed on the seven continents of Earth.
This is an intimate visual story of the trees and rocks, the oceans and animals, from microcosm to macrocosm. It is also a beautiful document of the human condition, from ancient civilizations and nomadic culture into the rapid ascent of technological society.
The subjects within these pages are as varied as the landscape, life forms from which we refine our evolving awareness. At the heart of this awareness lies the potential to chart new directions through compassion and respect for all living things. |

Diverse, intimate cultural portraits comprise a global family album. The portraits for "Untitled" were taken in 70 countries over a 35-year period. The book is not for sale. It contains no words, and has been created exclusively as a gift to children and illiterate adults in deprived areas of the world with little or no access to books or internet. Many charities are distributing the book internationally.
An interesting point about the book's production: the recycled paper used
for this first print run has created minor flaws in the photos, giving each
book an individual organic code or "fingerprint". |

Greater Hamilton: From The Heart brings focus to the environment, people and heritage of the six municipalities which comprise the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Like a natural "backbone", the rugged, curving Niagara Escarpment defines our two-tiered geographic area, with more than a dozen waterfalls that ribbon and cascade toward Lake Ontario. Much like its varied landscapes, Hamilton is a richly diverse community. With its historical roots in industry, the city is evolving into a mecca for medical sciences and education.
From the foreword by The Honourable Lincoln M. Alexander:
"Through the eyes of award-winning photographer Mark Zelinski, these pages explore the schools, churches, hospitals, businesses and homes of our citizens. Finally, we have a book which truly represents our entire community, as told from the hearts of those who live here."
THE HONOURABLE LINCOLN M. ALEXANDER, P.C., C.C., K. ST.J., O. ONT., Q.C.
